Those planning a beach holiday from another nation, cruise passengers embarking on cruises that begin in and return to The Bahamas, and those going inter-island are all subject to these restrictions.

Tourists who have been fully vaccinated must now provide a valid and negative PCR-RT test.

The need that all visitors show a negative rapid antigen test or PCR test before entering the nation if they were properly vaccinated was removed by the Bahamas government on May 1. However, from August 6, 2021, the government will require individuals to submit a negative test result even if they have been completely vaccinated.

After a surge in Delta variant cases in the area and several cases aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship last week, the Bahamian authorities took this step. During testing aboard the Adventure of the Seas, which is presently sailing from the Bahamas on trips, medical personnel discovered six active cases.

Unvaccinated passengers aged 12 and above must still have a negative COVID-19 PCR test performed no more than five days prior to their arrival date. Children under the age of two are not required to get tested.

Within The Bahamas, Inter-Island Travel

Anyone traveling from and to the following islands: Nassau & Paradise Island, Grand Bahama, Bimini, Exuma, Abaco, and North and South Eleuthera, including Harbour Island:

Guests on cruises departing from and returning to The Bahamas must apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa and meet the following requirements:

Persons who have been vaccinated must provide a negative PCR test OR a fast antigen test performed no more than five days prior to their arrival in The Bahamas. Unvaccinated individuals must get a negative PCR test no later than five days before to their arrival date in The Bahamas.

Guests on cruises departing from the United States are exempt from the aforementioned requirements, but must follow the cruise companies’ regulations, which have been authorized by the Bahamian government. Those who are taking a cruise or visiting to the Bahamas after August 6 and already hold a Bahamas Travel Health Visa are exempt from the restrictions.
