A Carson Wentz Bounceback Should Not Be Counted Out Despite Latest Injury Setback to T.Y. Hilton

We’ve all heard the right-on clichés about how we should do things better, and we should end things we don’t like with a bit of dignity. That’s great if you’re a celebrity or a politician, but what about the rest of us? Whether it’s a relationship, a job, a hobby, or a TV show, it’s hard to walk away from something we’ve fallen in love with.

On the morning of my departure for the States, the weather turned to the point where it was overcast and pouring rain. It could have been so much worse, but I was glad I decided to go home the night before to apply the finishing touches to my suitcase. As I was getting ready to leave, I found a letter tucked inside my mirror. It was written by my friend to me, and it was the sweetest, most thoughtful letter I have ever received.

The Indianapolis Colts are dealing with a slew of ailments, but T.Y.Hilton’s injury should not be seen as a death sentence for quarterback Carson Wentz. After an acrimonious departure from Philadelphia, the former Eagles quarterback is gearing up for a new chapter in Indianapolis, and he’s in excellent shape after reconnecting with head coach Frank Reich. Despite the loss of his No. 1 receiver due to Hilton’s injury, Wentz still has the receivers and a balanced offensive system to help him flourish in Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Colts have a long and illustrious wide receiver tradition, which T.Y. Hilton continues.

Peyton Manning’s climb to prominence as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the NFL paralleled Marvin Harrison’s ascension to the Hall of Fame as a wide receiver. Manning and Harrison were teammates, and Reggie Wayne will undoubtedly join them in Canton. In Wayne’s last NFL season, Hilton was named to his first Pro Bowl. He quietly established himself as one of the greatest receivers of the decade.

Between 2014 and 2017, the 31-year-old was named to four straight Pro Bowls. In 2016, he had the most receiving yards in the NFL with 1,448. Hilton is a fan favorite in Indianapolis, which is why he re-signed with the club this spring. He was also expected to be Carson Wentz’s primary target.

Hilton is once again injured, which is bad news for Wentz and the Colts. Hilton is expected to miss “several weeks” due to an undisclosed ailment, according to Stephen Holder of The Athletic. Hilton was being examined for an upper back and neck ailment, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Hilton is the receiving corps’ seasoned leader, and he’s no stranger to playing through ailments. He doesn’t seem to be able to get through this one. That puts on on Wentz to include the rest of his receiving corps, but it’s a good bunch.

The Colts’ receiving corps is loaded with talent.

With T.Y. Hilton out for the time being, Carson Wentz is expected to share the wealth. The Colts will need a number of players to step up, but there is reason to be optimistic.

Zach Pascal has established himself as a player who can gain yards after the catch and stretch opposing secondary defenses over the top. With the ball in his hands, Michael Pittman Jr. was even better, averaging 7.3 yards after the catch. He has a chance to have a breakthrough second season.

Indy is probably hoping that Parris Campbell would agree with that final remark. In the 2019 NFL Draft, the 24-year-old was selected 59th overall. He’s a burner who can take the top off and showed promise as a route runner last season in camp. He hasn’t been able to remain on the field for long.

Campbell only appeared in seven games as a rookie. Last year, he had six receptions for 71 yards in Week 1 before suffering a PCL injury early in Week 2. The former Ohio State star will miss the remainder of the season. Campbell’s skill is still valued by the Colts, and he may be the dynamic player who can assist.

Furthermore, the Colts may use their rushing assault to relieve pressure on Wentz.

Indy’s attack is well-balanced enough to compensate for injuries.

Carson Wentz must first prioritize his own health.

For the duration of camp, Wentz has been dealing with a foot ailment. He was expected to lose some time at the start of the regular season, but he’s been increasing his workouts in the hopes of being ready for Week 1.

Other ailments have afflicted the Colts as well. Quenton Nelson, an All-Pro offensive lineman, suffered a foot ailment identical to Wentz’s before being put on the COVID-19 list. Before tearing his ACL, left tackle Sam Tevi was on the margins of the 53-man roster.

The injuries aren’t very good. It’s unclear if Wentz’s foot problem will restrict his movement. Even yet, Indy can mask the problems by establishing control on the ground.

Jonathan Taylor, a second-year running back, had a fantastic first season. Taylor established himself as the main back in Indy’s backfield, rushing for over 1,200 yards and averaging 5.0 yards per carry. By giving Taylor more carries and creating a balanced offense, the Colts will lighten Wentz’s burden.

Skeptics may believe that his ailments will hinder him in his debut season with the Colts. This Indianapolis squad, on the other hand, is designed to withstand adversity. Wentz also has a larger talent pool than he had in Philadelphia (not to mention a much better offensive line).

Carson Wentz should not be written out just yet.

Pro Football Reference provided the statistics.

The Quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts Has Not Been Named In the same breath as Tom Brady and Joe Montana, Carson Wentz is mentioned: ‘Could it possibly be him?’
